The Samurai Jack Theme is the theme song for the Cartoon Network animated TV series Samurai Jack. It was performed by hip-hop musician Will.i.am.
The song appears at the beginning of every episode (apart from the first episode and the fifth [and last] season) and appears again in every episode during the end credits.
Sequence[]
The sequence begins with a temple in a day view. Aku grimaced and irritated. Jack wields a magic sword, stepping forth to oppose Aku. Aku tears to open a hypnotic portal and flung Jack. Three views of Jack became hypnotic while falling down. The music plays, Jack is in a red backdrop, alongside the baddest creatures and sees all birds in the damaged city. Transition to slashing, Jack is rushing the trees and the ugly insects fly. Jack kills all of the ugly insects and has a big problem while seeing all large blue creatures. The white ape was supposed to fight Jack. All views of Jack kills the white ape. Jack goes deeply under the sea. Jack walks in and the series' logo appear.
Lyrics[]
Opening monologue (Aku)[]
In the first four seasons, Aku begins narrating a monologue before the actual theme song plays.
Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil!
But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me.
Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time, and flung him into the future, where my evil is law!
Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!
Opening monologue (Jack)[]
In fifth and last season, Jack narrates a monologue instead of Aku. The theme song itself is omitted from the intro but still plays in the outro.
Fifty years have passed, but... I do not age. Time has lost its effect on me.
Yet, the suffering continues. Aku's grasp chokes the past, present... and future. Hope is lost.
Got to get back — back to the past... Samurai Jack.
Main theme song (Will.i.am)[]
This song plays immediately after Aku's monologue, but not Jack's. It also plays again during the end credits.
Gotta get back, back to the past, Samurai Jack!
Watch out!
Gotta get back, back to the past, Samurai Jack!
Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack!
