In a way, the fact that she died made her all more special to me, because she became a very important turning point for Jack's life rather than his lover, and that has more importance to me in my book. She knew what was the right thing to do and what that would imply, but still went through with it. The final scene was just so, so emotional and powerful for me because of that.
